Almost Home

Somewhere in between Wyoming and Nebraska, Wilson started crying.

"I want to go to my condo... I mean, my hotel... I mean, my house."

Oh buddy, I feel you. Where exactly do we live?

At this moment we are exactly 72 miles from our hometown and it feels like I'm about to meet an old friend at the airport. I'm sure in September I will get a case of get-me-out-of-this-house-right-now, but in this moment I can't imagine a more inviting place in the world.

I know this is emotion is just a shadow of the anchor my heart has in heaven.

"The difference between the old Narnia and the new Narnia was like that. The new one was a deeper country: every rock and flower and blade of grass looked as if it meant more.” -- The Last Battle, C.S. Lewis
But I'm thankful for the journey we have had home. We saw a day old Annie, caught fireflies in Kentucky, and spent the fourth swimming in the rain at the lake house.

Also, Wilson threw things at our heads and screamed his loudest screams and we pulled the car over at almost every other exit.

Is it just me or does my child look like McCauly Culkin? Do yourself a favor and do not, under any circumstances, google what McCauly looks like now. Especially if you think your child looks like McCaulay because it will make you very, very sad.

Cheers to (almost) being home! And cheers to Courtney at {A Faithulness Told} for this beautiful blog makeover!
